Now that IS funny!

So listen my brothas...Having four brothers and being a high school teacher, I've heard it all (friendly lie about the virginal ears.) Haven't done it all yet but there's still time : ) And after carefully digesting all AJ's posts, think I'm going to apply for a supplemental credential for auto shop teacher.

So feel free to say whatever you like... just talk on and run your cars like the crazy hombres you all are but most of all have a hell of a lotta fun!

Laurie.. not any ordinary lady... your humble FirSSt Lady : )

Mighty impressive Junior.....I went over to painter's shop yesterday....he was finished spraying engine bay, bottom of car to include steel decklid and hood, etc. (satin black).....I ordered the last of my replacement parts from our vendors, and took the Campy clones over to powder coater to do those (stock silver).

So he sprays tomorrow....then he should have final wet sanding and buffing down on the black lacquer by middle of next week....reassemble interior, cage, grills etc and plan is to deliver to tommy Hodges to do do final inspection and any repairs needed....I know I have one ball joint bad so both need to be replaced, then final alignment, etc and should have pantera back following weekend ready to go (Sept 5).....that is assuming we have no other new sheit to take care of.

Okay, waiting to hear from Ms. Ferrari on her progressbut she may still be angry at some of you guys for using such foul language earlier in the week. clean it up boyz....as Kenny Rogers used to sing, 'She's a Lady"

Again not much done tonight but a little bit of progress.

I received my order from Summit. I tested the digital oil temp gauge by
hooking it up, then holding it in my hand to watch the temp rise and
then blowing on it to cool it back down to see the temp fall. Seeing
that it worked, I installed the gauge and gauge pod on the roll bar, but
didn't hook it up yet.

I uncorked the oil pan to let the oil drain, laid out the new spark plug
wires for tomorrow, did some clean up and then pulled the front plug
from the oil pan. This is where the oil temp sensor will go. It's a
rather large, probably 3/8" pipe thread; the sender is more like 1/4".
I'll need to stop at Napa tomorrow night and source an adapter.

The only thing I'm a little worried about is grounding the sensor. I'd
like to use pipe tape on the threads to help seal it from leaking oil,
but that could interfere with good grounding. I'm just going to have to
use the tape sparingly and check continuity as I install it. They
actually recommend I run the ground wire from the gauge all the way to
the block, but that seems like overkill. Any opinions on that?

Tomorrow I'll install the oil temp sender, engine oil and spark plug
wires. Then I'll work on routing wiring for the oil temp gauge. If I
get far enough, I might take her out for a spin to warm up the ZF and
then drain it; letting it sit overnight to allow as much to drain out as
possible.

Alright, so four days ago the list looked like this:
- Cut access in rockers to finish attaching roll cage
- Change ZF fluid
- Change oil in the engine
- Get new tires mounted
- Get the O2 sensor bung installed and the wires run

It now looks like this:
- Install the oil temp sender
- Finish the oil change
- Change ZF fluid
- Get new tires mounted

That should about do it I think, well, maybe a little tuning. I'll take
it to my buddy to evaluate how well he thinks the carb rebuild is going
and give the steering another try. I'm a just about ready to call it
all "ready" for SSCC.
