[TPR] Progress

I've had lot of misfires and rarely blow a power valve (at least the latest design ones). I'm all for EFI, in fact I'm still looking for a suitable twin-turbo EFI package under $50,000 :) I have had the choke plate seize shut during a backfire!

Still, I'm willing to throw it all away for a nice TT set-up! Anyone have one for sale?

JB

Holley power valves suck - one misfire and they die. EFI is the only way to go :-) Otherwise keep a spare set of power valves and various jets so you can tune the car for various requirements (altitude, load, performance, economy etc). If using a double pumper carb add springs and cams to that spare parts mix.

We had a problem setting idle/tune with my old Holly 830 cfm DP...Russ pulled the carb off and found we had a power valve problem...replaced the power valve and problem solved.

Mark did you check that?

yeah, I have an appointment at the Mustang Ranch in Santa Clara for next Saturday (13th). (they were booked 2 weeks out) Its getting close. My plan is to do a compression check first, then take carb apart. Idle vacuum is low and smells rich so wondering if I have a power valve problem
