Sounds like a good plan...been real happy with my roller stroker...4+ years...knock on wood.

Depending on how bad my tax bill is next year  I want a new 650-700 Hp engine...by spring. . .right now on svhedulebe to get her repainted. . .

That would explain it.  No doubt it wouldn't have lasted much longer, I'm glad you pulled over when you did.  The cam is going to be a bitch to get out if that lifter is in the way.  Best to turn it over, take the oil pan off and try getting the lifter back up far enough in the bore to get it or the cam out.

An all Aluminum block would be great, but expensive.  Besides, the challenge here is to use a good old fashioned cast iron 351C block and make it last.

My next engine I'm thinking of going with a solid roller stroker.  I just hope I can save enough to get the Pantera to SSCC next year.

it's wasted. You can see the lifter in the center of this picture is so far into the block it has uncovered the lifter oil hole!  That is why we had low oil pressure on course at SSCC!  The lifter bottom is damaged and won't come out, so the only hope of using this block is to remove the cam and then get the lifters out of the cam bore.  I'm just going to pull the engine and drop it off at the builder and see what he can do.
