Yes, those are 3" ID SS Magnaflows that are oval and fit into the 'hole'
where the stock mufflers fit.
The tailpipes on the car are 3" header to tip and I wanted to keep the ID.
>From what I've read from Dan Jones and the dyno testing that he's done with
Dave McClain, the GTS mufflers, even gutted, are restrictive due to the
small outlets.
As a side comment, apparently, Wilkinson's new headers and mufflers are
much, much better.
The race car had straight pipes and was ungodly loud, which was the reason
it got its nickname 'Saturn V'...
Just tuning the carburetor with it idling hurt my ears.
Gray's response was... wear ear plugs!
Plus, Upton told me TWS is starting to enforce the sound limits they have.
The new owner is trying to keep the locals happy, it seems. Inevitable
these days...
Upton is running a couple of Borla mufflers on his car now.
:-)
Anyway, I used the two reasons above to convince myself that I needed to
put mufflers on the car with minimal impact to the performance.
I did some searching and found these. They knocked the high frequencies off
big time. It's still loud, but it doesn't hurt the ears as much.
The fit right into the opening where the normal mufflers go, as you can see
in the pictures.
I'm pretty sure these are the ones, but need to confirm to be absolutely
sure.

They are 3" ID all the way through, so I can't see how they'd impact
performance much...
Magnaflow has lots of different option with number of inlets, number of
outlets, sizes, offset, centered, etc. etc.
Summit's website allows you to narrow down the selection to what you need
very quickly.
