[TPR] Asa Jay's Post-SSCC Run Oil Analysis

The overall report has to be taken with consideration of the previous
report. You also have to remember this is still a pretty fresh engine
build with only about 4,000 miles on it.
It ran a special break-in oil first, then I changed it on the way to
SSCC last year. After the race, once I got home I took an analysis. I
then changed oil again right before SSCC and sampled immediately after
the race.
The first report showed a lot of metals, but they didn't express a lot
of concern since the engine was new and seeing a high level of some
metals is typical and expected. The second sample right after SSCC
looks much better, those metals are going way down, but some are still
there, which may mean the engine is still doing a bit of break-in, or
something may be wearing. My biggest concern was a high wear -during-
the race when the engine was turning high rpms for an extended period of
time. The analysis seems to indicate nothing bad is happening.
The recommendation is to leave the oil in, which I'll most likely do
until just before SSCC next year. And then I'll have it sampled
immediately after the race again and would expect that nearly everything
has settled to normal levels.
