Subject: [TPR] Pantera Winter Projects???
Hey, what are you guys doing for winter on your rides?
$$$$$$ Main project is to make progress on the Mark III engine build.
I am finally gonna get Pantera to a paint shop in Fresno...he's the guy who
said he crosses the state line into Arizona to get the paint the tree
huggers wont allow here anymore if you know what I mean.
$$$$$$ That sounds like my kinda Paint and Body Man.
Also Plan to pull the Davis CUP radiator out and replace it with Fluidyne
2-pass unit that Quella has that will 'fit' with my all-most stock steel
hood.
$$$$$$ I am confused. I thought that the Davis radiator had been
faultless and that it fit. So, you're going to a different hood or you
expect better cooling out of the Fluidyne unit??
Would also like to find a steel decklid so if you know of anyone who has one
let me know....Yea I will trade straight across...their decklid for my race
radiator ;-)
$$$$$$ I have seen lots of decklids hanging from the walls of Dennis
Quella's shop. Maybe he would make a deal?
On wheels and airfilters and valve covers I am thinking about
anodizing....Irish says they scratch says they scratch easily but so do my
polished wheels.... Okay most of that is bullsheeit but the anodizing isn't
so let me know what ya think...yea don't hold back JB ;-)
$$$$$$ My preference is for coatings or anodizing over powder painting.
My aluminum valve covers are powder painted and they've held up well The
other engine parts besides the block are coated with aluminized ceramic
appearance coating. I have no experience with anodizing, but I can see
where is would likely scratch easily. I do not know how chemical resistant
it is nor what it's long term durability would be.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
