I think trying to learn anything concerning mixture by running similar rpm tests in a lower gear will not work. The vacuum will be all wrong and power valve position and mixture will not be the same. JB

The only sure ways to judge mixture are by reading the plug (and factoring driving) and/or with a properly calibrated a/f gauge.
