Well, Mr Dawg, it is part of a pattern I have followed with every car I have run at SSCC for 20+ years - and in that time I have never had an engine issue and only one DNF :-) (darned convertible top blew off) And some of those engines had north of 100K miles on them... so while I don't run as fast as you (insane BTW) I always finish and normally 2nd or 3rd in my class :-)

In September one more try for 1st... final work on the secret weapons should happen this week... AJ - you should order that computer, after my oscilloscope arrives Monday and I do a final test I can send you a programmed flash card and handmade circuit board :-)

And Mr Dawg - I do NOT change my own oil - I take it to a nice place with a case of amzoil and my non-stock size oil filter and have them do it :-)

Irish, you are on crack and if you ar not you should be ;-)>
You just brought that var home new and you were already tearing it down, modifying it, changing it, fooling with the electronics....and 3,750 miles on Amzoil at those Mike Drewster speeds....wigga pleeeze! You need a drink worse then I do.
Micjael, this is the first time you have made sense so yea I agree with ya but I KNOW why Irish changes the oil....its cool to change it. Neighbors come by, they think,
'Wow he is a racer AND he does his own work too....wow I want to marry him'
Okay tats wot the gay guys say anyway.
But Okay changing my dino VR1 racer oil and my mongo HP-6 racer filter, now going over to Dicks shop to meet him and Russ because they DO know what they are doing and I dont ;-)>

The Z's interval is 3750 miles (why that number I do not know) - and I rarely drive it that much in a year. I run Amzoil synthetic normally used for fleet usage (translation 2x-3x the change interval is normal) so it looks/smells the same going in and coming out - probably could run it for several years without issues but it is on my list of todo's prior to any race.

Having said that, I of course mean Dino based lubricants, if it is synthetic based, despite the mileage, I would change it and I say that only because I do not know what is in it and how volitile those chemical compounds may be over time.

Twere it me I'd change it, drive it a bit, make sure no leaks/oil level is good and run it...

At 180 mph plus, do you really want one more thing to think about?
