Junior & AJ,
Don't expect much input from Eric but be ready to tell him what tires you want to buy....he may not even get back to you for 2-3 days.
But here's some tires for you to look at assuming you are using AJ's recommendation for aftermarket 8 x 17 fronts and 9.5 x 18 rears....
1. Michelin Pilot Super Sports....245/40/17/XL fronts and 265/45/18 rears....that rear tire is 27.4" tall (optimal) for stock gearing
2. BFG G-force Comp 2.....245/40ZR/17 fronts with 275/40/18 rears....rear tire is 26.70" tall...Unfortunately I am hearing all my beloved 'tractor G-force KDW's are now old new stock....;-)
3.NITTO NT05......235/40/ZR/18 fronts with 275/40ZR18 rears....rear tire is 26.57" dia....these are hot selling tires right now and dealers can't keep them in stock....not so sure about data on endurance racing though...they look bad ass but may not hold up
4.KUMHO ECTAX5...245/40/17 fronts with 275/35/18 rears....only 25.60 dia rear.....Not much data I know about but there were some failures in SCCA competition a year or two ago.....Kumho apparently fixed the problems but not sure I would want to experiment with them in orr competition.
FYI - For reliability I'd go with Michelin or BFG (I've had 4-5 sets with never a problem) but I know you likes da racer tire look too so check them out and then tell Eric what you want to buy. I went to local buyer here for Michelin and he said he would guarantee new tires were date stamped no more then 6 months old.
ps....On buying tires Roger Krause used to be the Goodyear race tire distributor in NorCal.....its who I also bought my old BFG R-1s from....Check with Bob Benson and/or Eric Belter who should know if Roger is still selling competition tires or go with local dealer who our guys recommend.

Thanks Asa. Granddad said he knew a tire guy in the Bay Area and I didn't think 530 was around here. I'll give him a call. JB
