LOL...so glad my own fuzzy memories were kinna reinforced.
Now I do remember there was a connection.
it was when i went to the 180 degree headers and couldn't use the tub anymore Mike Cook, Junior and the go fast boyz told me to punch the reverse louvers in the deck lid as a way to vent pressure under decklid......yea again memories fade so not sure how that all really went down....all I wanted was the 180 degree headers. Like the IR-EFI I didn't care if they helped or not. ;-)>

Dear Dennis,
You wrote:
" There is another reason to consider running your tub... not sure this is accurate or not but Junior Wilson or Bobby Byers were convinced running the tub IN the car reduced rear end lift at speed......true or not it would not hurt you.....I averaged 140-145 mph in my 1st and 2nd ORR'S and I ran BOTH ORRs with tub and all my gear, tools, etc either locked in front or tub in back and because you can not have anything in car with you unless it is secured or 'hidden' think about that decision"
I am glad you mentioned that. When Asa said he was going to run without the tub, I thought that I remembered that the limited scientific aerodynamic testing and the limited "seat of the pants" anecdotal testing *seemed* to show that the tub improved the actual Pantera aerodynamics. Blundering onward, IIRC the actual airflow in the normal stock Pantera actually pulls air *up* from beneath the car to exit through the rear deck window opening. If I understand the situation, then the tub limits that amount of flow and.....improves high speed aerodynamics and platform stability. Please note that all of the above is based on a fuzzy memory and only second hand information......
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
