Thanks Doc....as an aside I have a battery disconnect on the Pantera....so anytime the thing is gonna sit more then a few hours I just disconnect....
My EFI tuner suggested 3 years ago that I would not have any problem with the computer and to date there has not been.....I have noticed a couple times and it is infrequent that on re-starting the pantera after having the battery disconnected about 10% of the time when I first fire it up it will seem to be firing on something less then 8 cylinders.....think this happened one time with Dick Drenske.....First I called the tuner (mistake!!) as he went "hmmm, I better check it out"....well that is a expensive home-call......Dick said to turn the ignition off and then turn it 'back on'.....yea that worked!!!
Not sure why...maybe JB or someone else who has electronics skills can explain...all I know is it starts, stops, and still runs like a scalded monkey.
As an aside the Chief of Tech at SilverState who is a serious guy asked me "Dawg wot do you do to the Pantera when you are on assignments and no one is maintaining or driving the car?"
I wanted to answer, "you mean besides dusting it off when I get home?".....but thinking any answer was gonna be wrong I never answered. ;-)

Dear Dennis,
I have NO actual experience with this, but…..I have been told various things and the ones that I recall are:
1) CRC product 06068 Marine Engine Stor fogger----follow directions ( I found it on-line)
2) I have been told that SeaFoam is supposed to be pretty good for engine storage, but I don’t know.
3) Disconnect the battery and place a trickle charger on it------will no electrical power upset the EFI computer brain?
4) I think that for a few months or so, the jack stands are optional, but I don’t see any downside to them.
5) Changing the coolant for a fresh load of corrosion inhibitors would be good
6) I have heard of products to treat gas in engines not used over a long winter. I once used one and developed mysterious and copious schmutz deposits on the valves that led to engine repair. In theory, those things are good, but choose carefully and follow directions. Perhaps the best option is draining the tank.
That’s all I can think of. I am sure residents of the more northern climes will have more and better advice.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

If any of you were going to store (not drive) your car for more then a few weeks (3+ months) what would you do to prepare it for storage....IE'
engine, fuel, oil and water lines, putting car on jacks, etc?
Dawg
