[TPR] Drilling bolts for Safety Wire

Well -that- was an adventure.

I picked up a drill fixture for making holes in bolts to pass safety
wire through. It was this one:

As you recall, last week I broke the first bit on the first hole. I
picked up a couple of super-razoo bits (Carbide I think) and took to my
Dad's drill press today.

Long story short, I think we went through six bits total before we
called it a day. The second original bit actually lasted the longest.
One of the new super-duper ones I think was dull to start with as it
chattered and shattered almost immediately. The second one cut like
butter, until I hit a piece of broken drill bit from a previous snap
(yea, we thought we got it all out of the hole but apparently didn't).

I now have six caliper bolts with two holes each, and two caliper bolts
with one hole each... and small bits of broken drill bit in second hole
attempts. <sigh>

Doing it again... I'd recommend just ONE hole per bolt. I wanted at
least two for more flexibility with the safety wire. However, my Dad
commented later that I really only need one and we talked through how to
properly safety wire based on all possible positions of the bolt. My
dad is a certified A&P so I figure I can listen to him (well that -and-
I'm older now so listening to Dad is okay). He was lusting after the
drill fixture too, he told me there were plenty of times he'd wished
he'd had one when he was working on planes.

Overall, mission accomplished... I just need to pay back Dad a few new
1/16" drill bits. :)
Photos later.

PS. It's damn cold here, raining cats and dogs too. I've forgone any
more work on the car today.
