The heck with the car - not sure I could drive to the local 7-11 right now - been in so many countries/timezones I am apparently in a state of terminal jet lag. The car, while dirty, is completely ready. The driver is not :-)

Subject: [TPR] Asa's Tuesday update July 31

Less than two months to SSCC.

Not ready.

Seats out, firewall cover off, access hatch out.
Expired harness out, new one ready for install.
Beginning engine extraction.
Carb is off.  Carb is a Holley Ford stamped D8PE-9510-KA, LIST 8414.
Any idea what this is?

Budget is now gone.
Figuring out which used water pump to put on engine.  Will probably go
with the lowest miles, aluminum 8-vane generic brand (looks in really
good shape).

Nothing done on engine for three days, going through withdrawal, but
need water pump to move on.  Working on engine pull while waiting for
"magic" to happen (or the next few paychecks to put a little back into
the SSCC Fund).

Updates will be slow from here on out.
