Short story.... BAD.
Long Story,
I sprayed the radiator pretty well with some Simple Green and let it
soak a few minutes while I looked for the hose pistol grip sprayer.
After hosing it all down thoroughly both inside and out, we took it in
to the bench and set up the pressure tester.
At first, I couldn't get -any- pressure into the tank at all. Then
dumbass remembered the petcock was open and the top fitting was not
installed. Duh! So I closed the petcock and put the plug back in the
upper left hole. That's your comedy for today... it ain't gettin' any
better.
Ahhhh... pressure... and lots of noise.
I didn't have to use soapy water, plain water worked just fine. I
sprayed down the various locations hissing and found bubbles on multiple
tubes at the ends on both tanks. There were some I could not find
readily on the outer layer of tubes, but based on my use of the spray
and the change in hissing to bubbles, you can bet inner tubes are
leaking as well, at the connections to the tanks.
I'm betting this -can't- be repaired. It's not like a brass radiator
you can unsolder the tanks, fix the tubes and resolder the tanks. The
tanks in this case are welded. <sigh>
I guess I need some of that Round Table Pizza sponsorship money to buy a
new radiator. :)
oh...
AND MY STINKIN' BEARINGS ARE STILL NOT HERE!
