Reminds me of a story.... sorry, it's a clean one.
Long ago when I was living at my parents and was still attending school.
I woke up in the pitch black night to something crunching just outside my sliding glass door, which was partially open with the screen closed.
I got up, walked slowly over to the door, not being able to see anything.
I could hear the crunching just outside the door.
I flipped on the outside light, and there at my feet, less than a foot away was a juvenile skunk, no smell.
It was munching on a pine cone.
I switched the light back off and figuring it was about as blind as I was at -that- moment, tried to quietly slide the door closed the six inches it had been open.
I left it in peace and went back to bed, thankful for small miracles.
Next morning... no smell, so I must not have scared it when I closed the door.

Not directly sprayed, but I don't trust the little copulators! (too many close calls in my history)
I doubt if I would dip any major parts of the car in tomato juice, its really hard to get out of the upholtery. haha?

You've been skunked?
Maybe hose it down with a can of tomato juice.
It's getting hot here too this week. I'll be gone Tuesday through Thursday though. I hope it cools off this weekend. I'll be corner working the local open track event both days, and working on the engine at night... hopefully.

For various reasons, I've become super motivated to get the motor back in the Pantera.
Sitting in the driver's seat, a friend's impending completed BB512 restoration and our own Asa Jay have "super-motiviated" me to take some action. Well, as motivated as a fat old man can be . . .
The weather here has been unseasonable hot and progress has been slow. Maybe working early morning and late at night????
Tonite I was sitting in the car with a pile of wires and misc. pieces in my lap when I heard a noise - the long block, hanging from the hoist like a xmas tree ornament was swinging at the end of the chain. How odd, but I couldn't get out to check until I finished the current step in the process.
When I did get out, I smelled the _____ing skunk before I saw it.
I have all but stopped cleaning the engine bay - the next step might be scraping the whole thing with a putty knife and i KNOW that would be a very long project.
Tomorrow: prepping ZF and Cleveland for their marriage . . . .
