It would seem if the problem were a gasket failure that evidence may be
destroyed. It would seem a good look at the heads and block in the area
should be in the plan.
Rings? They may "look" good and be of low miles, but that thing has sat for
some years has it not? As I told Asa, I would err on the side of less labor
i.e. - its easier to spend a few $ on new rings than to pull the motor and
do this dance again. Maybe I'm too lazy? (Of course, I just went through
this because of an oil blowby issue.)
We should know the answers before September . . .
