I run plain Castrol 20-50w with a ZDDP additive, always worked with no
problems.
When I raced, we ran Pennzoil products, all free due to sponsorship.
I think that like gasoline, the oil itself is a commodity product and not
absolutely
a product of the region the name implies, I seriously doubt that Quaker
State
( read sludge in a bottle ) and Pennzoil are sourced anywhere near PA as
they originally were.
Like gasoline, it's a matter o0f the additives, detergents, etc. that makes
a brand a Brand.
I have a friend you is an "Oil Man" is that he sells and delivers gas to
Gas stations with a fleet of tankers,
primarily, Shell, BP, Texaco and Pilot Truck stops. The gas doesn't become
the Brand until
it's in the tanker and 5 gallon buckets of stuff are added to it to make it
what it is supposed to be.
