[TPR] "Round Table Pizza" sponsorship decals - the History

Hey Team!

We first reached out to my good friend Dan Cathy who founded and is still the current president and CEO of Chick-fil-A a request for sponsorship earlier this year but there were problems in the vetting process.

To make a long story longer there were some accusations of Rowdy (no pun intended) drinking at Jim's Bar in Arnold, and something more about so called 'Gladiator Games' at the Trailer in Arnold Nebraska with men in togas partying with animals.

As Dan's COO explained to me the background investigation results I asked Dan to stop right there but then he handed me some added photographic evidence of JB and Rich at the Green Lantern in Ely Nevada and someone who looked like me but obviously was not me in Mexico hugging a couple Mexican girls.....and that pretty much killed any possibility we would be getting Chick fil A sponsorship in light of the recent negative liberal bad press Dan has got.....bottom line is it looked a little wrong.....not saying it was wrong it just looked wrong that way to some including Dan and Lord knows Dan has allot on his plate right now.

Next I visited  Bill Larson Junior whose daddy William Larson started Round Table Pizza here in California.  Which may I remind you that KANSAS is the only state (so far) without a Round Table Pizza.   Now Bill (nicknamed "WILD BILL") was born and raised on the beaches of California so I knew we had a better chance of getting sponsorship with a guy like that who understood how we rolled....and yea I was right. a little history here follows.

I met Junior in Dubai in 2010. Junior likes to race and Junior led Round Table PIzza out of this recession when he successfully filed bankruptcy in Oakland California last year. After the reorganization we now have Round Table Pizza locations all over the country and as far away as Dubai, UAE in the Middle East.  Junior better fits the Team Pantera Racing live-and-let-live California profile and brand and everything that goes with that!

As part of the sponsorship we got an advance of $100,000 for operating costs and end of year trophies. We spent about $90,000 of that out here in California (sorry guys) for direct and indirect overhead costs to buy among other things, a RV with the Round Table Pizza name on it (aka; Cafe Finito) which if you make it out to Ely for the Silver State in September you will get to see in person.

In the meantime JB will take some photographs of the stuff we bought. We also had to pay in advance for supplies, expendables, utilities, etc. because frankly my credit is shot to hell too....and we made a small $10,000 loan to my daughter who is going away to college in the fall....yea of course I will pay it back. That leaves $10,000 cash (yes bundled) for the TPR Central Division. However, our treasurer and controller (Asa Jay Asa Jay) has that cash in Washington State and some or all of that is being held in ESCROW against the CHALLENGE to other teams.

The Challenge? What is the Challenge? Well it is a challenge that has been out there for about 5 years to other clubs to bring 5 or more vintage automobiles of the same marque and model to Silver state that were built prior to 1975. To date invitations to Ferrari, Ford, Shelby, Chevrolet, Mopar, Mercedes, Jaguar, BMW, Briggs & Stratton, etc have all been ignored. So assuming that once again like every other year no team can field 5 vintage automobiles for an open road race that $10,000 cash will be forwarded to Chapter president Rowdy Radefeld in Topeka Kansas for distribution to the rest of you guys.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me in person. I will in turn make sure I give you a non-disclosure statement to fill out before I answer and then will deny any comment or claim in the negative you or your family members should make in the future out of some misguided misinformation, hidden agenda, or some wierd liberal idea that they can sue my ass just because I live in California.

Okay racers, thats about it. Good luck and God speed next week at Arnold.

Make us proud and stay out of Jims Bar or at least wear a mask.

sincerely,

Subject: SORC - "Round Table Pizza" sponsorship decals

TPR Central Division SORC Racers,

That crazy Dawg in Kalifornia procured sponsorship from an outfit called "Round Table Pizza" for TPR entrants in ORR'ing events this year. He has 8 decals on the way to me so each of our cars can display one on each side. Thank the Dawg for his kindness in remembering us!! At this point in time he has not let me in on how much sponsorship money is available per racer but I'm sure it will be a BUNDLE! :o)) BTW, any of you that don't live in Kansas have a Round Table Pizza place in your neck of the woods?? I've never heard of them until now..............
