It was Veterans Day. I was dressed to the nines in my Class A Air
Force Blues. I drove to work in the Pantera. For the occasion, I had
created a PowerPoint automated slide show honoring our KIA and other
Veterans. It ran all day in the cafeteria. Part of it included an
eight minute clip from Arlington, showing the changing of the guard at
the Tomb of the Unknowns (I filmed it earlier this year while visiting
the cemetery).
At 11:40, I was invited to give remarks during a small assembly in the
cafeteria. I made a seven minute speech. Although I did not share
them, I recalled memories shared by our own Mad Dawg Antenucci that
cause me to pause.
Later, I drove the Pantera back home just as it was beginning to rain.
That evening, the family went to the awards banquet for our local
autocross club. The Racing Against Autism Pantera took third place in
Vintage.
The next day it snowed, so the Pantera is now parked in the garage
waiting for the pit crew to get busy on all over-winter maintenance
and modifications.
It was a nice couple of days.
