Well said Rowdy....Puff was always a welcome site in Nam especially if 'you'
were on an op in the middle of the sheeit. The 1st time we got TAC AIR support
in Nam our team was drawing heavy small arms and mortar fire in the valley near
at An Khe just before Tet 68.

Getting artillary or tac air support in those days in Nam meant you took what
you could get when you could get it....but when the FAC came up on the horn and
said he had PUFF 'in the area we gladly used it and that was not very often in
67-68. Nothing ever looked or sounded as beautiful. One solid line of red
tracers coming out of the sky. . .yea death from above.

And yea... also 'instant' fire suppression. ;-]>

Now that toy looks like it could be a LOT of fun. And 'ya Brian, that would be
the only way I could get ahold of one of those badboys too. Brought back
memories of Nam when we could hear the "Puff the Magic Dragon" gunships ripping
up the terrain a ways from our base. Just awesome firepower that we were sure
glad that they were on OUR side!! Talked to several crew members that said their
only job was kicking the empty shell casings out the side door(s) during a
strafing run while the guns were firing. Just unbelievable the havoc those boys
could unleash in a few seconds!!
