Hey you Jack Wagons step away from Manbie Pambie land. I am loving the new
Geico commercial.
This started over a Alaskan fishing trip.. What about the hunting in Alaska?
I have got an itch to drop a bear or something as exotic. Elk or Moose.
never been. so what's the scoop?

Btw, that was a big mistake telling us that your family and friends were
copied. This could be a lot of fun! :)

removing some people that are already on tpr - but I don't have a full
list.........
anyway, never pass up the opportunity to fish the Russian and/or the Kenai
river. Where they come together there is a yearly event known as "combat
fishing" where the banks are lined with shoulder-to-shoulder fisherman
catching their limit while brown bears watch. Its really something to see.
I do recommend you bring at least a 45 or 10mm along, stainless, of course.
:)
A float plane is the best way to see Alaska. Landing on those small
mountain lakes to fish or just hang out is amazing. There are forest
service cabins you can rent that are 100 miles from nowhere. They come with
a food storage locker, boat, and all the silence you can imagine. If you
are looking to get away, call Vern at Scenic Mountain Air at Trail Lake and
ask him to take you to Swan Lake. It just doesn't get any better.......
Kodiak is pretty regulated, but still a great place to hunt. If you want an
unbelievable hunt, find someone that will take you Caribou hunting on Adak.
:) Now that's a steak worth hunting for.....

Moving to Alaska (or anywhere out of Kalifornia besides Iowa) sounds better
every day.....congratulations for getting your 'float-plane' certification
this year....there has to be a fishing trip up to Kodiak Island.....all we
need to do is find one of the 3,500 Kodiak Brown Bear chasing salmon and
thats where we land ;-)>
