I'm removing my earlier family, friends and racers who are not on the tpr
list....Mary is at her office and just called me and said,

"what hunting trip are you planning to Alaska?"

"Nothing honey".

removing some people that are already on tpr - but I don't have a full
list.........

anyway, never pass up the opportunity to fish the Russian and/or the Kenai
river. Where they come together there is a yearly event known as "combat
fishing" where the banks are lined with shoulder-to-shoulder fisherman catching
their limit while brown bears watch. Its really something to see. I do
recommend you bring at least a 45 or 10mm along, stainless, of course. :)

A float plane is the best way to see Alaska. Landing on those small mountain
lakes to fish or just hang out is amazing. There are forest service cabins you
can rent that are 100 miles from nowhere. They come with a food storage locker,
boat, and all the silence you can imagine. If you are looking to get away, call
Vern at Scenic Mountain Air at Trail Lake and ask him to take you to Swan
Lake. It just doesn't get any better.......

Kodiak is pretty regulated, but still a great place to hunt. If you want an
unbelievable hunt, find someone that will take you Caribou hunting on Adak. :)
Now that's a steak worth hunting for.....
