[TPR] GR4 Racing Brakes

Depends. There are lot of rotors and features available. Most that I have
looked at range from list prices of $75 to $150 per rotor depending on
material and features. Then there is the price of the hats and attaching
hardware.
The prices of hats really depends. It depends on the rotor selection,
offset, etc. The hats are a pricey part of a brake system that people don't
think about. They range from $150 to $240 list price depending on rotor
selection and bolt circle size. Don't forget that choosing a hat to go on
the outside of the flange or on the inside like stock affect the offset on
your wheels and tires. The easiest and quickest way to get the system that
you want would be to buy the hats from a vendor and then select the rotors
and calipers that you want to use that fit the Pantera specific hats.
There are a lot of considerations that need to be thought through so it
really isn't that simple. It's not as simple as just ordering a bunch of
components. There are offsets, bolt circles, floating or rigid rotors,
adapters, different thickness rotors, different diameter pistons, different
size and type master cylinders, flexible brake lines and fittings, different
pad material, etc. It all has to work together and don't forget that all of
this is tied directly to your butt so it is very important to get it right.

Photo 1 is the front caliper which is the "GN" Grand National unit. I have
run 15" Gotti wheels with this setup and it should work with 15" Pantera
wheels. These are 17" wheels.
Photo 2 is the back side of the front caliper showing the required adapter.
The adapter is very easy to make. You can also see the model number on the
caliper. Note that they are left and right specific. The last two letters
in the model number designates that. Also note the massive clearance with
17" wheels.
Photo 3 is the rear six piston caliper. They are the Wilwood Billet
Superlite 6 lug mount calipers. They are also side specific.
Photo 4 is a picture of the front 15" Halibrand wheel on my GT40 that uses
the same GN caliper with 12.19" rotors and they fit in this cast wheel.
Tight but fit with no mods.
These brakes were designed and used on 3,000 lb Winston Cup cars and are a
lot of brake for a Pantera.
I have driven Gary Halls Burgundy Express race car at Pocono with these
brakes. He had a booster in the system and I considered them as too
sensitive with the booster. Very touchy with the booster. I use a manual
balance bar system and really like the feel. The list price on the calipers
is about $385 each for the fronts and $374 each for the rears but you can
likely find them cheaper than that.
